"What is amazing is that he could have saved us without suffering or dying and yet he chose a life of toil and humiliation, and a bitter and ignominious death, even death on a cross, something reserved for the very worst offenders. And why was it that, when he could have redeemed us without suffering, he chose to embrace death on the Cross? To show us how much he loved us." St. Alphonsus

Women Priests???

I feel I have a vocation to be a mother. Thanks a lot you sexist Mother Nature! How dare you deny me of my rights to equality of sexes! I believe it is an unjust law to deny me motherhood.

You think I am crazy yet? Well yes, it is a pretty idiotic argument. Now I point you to this article about a woman who is planning to become a priest.

What bothers me the most about this continuously re-accruing issue is the fact that is has been settled many years ago. There will never, ever, EVER be women priests in the Catholic Church. When will these liberal minded, relativists simply leave the Church they want so much to change and start their own dumbed down version where they can have as many women priests as they want.

The biggest problem in our Church today is the fact that hardly anyone knows what it teaches. These news releases are a huge distraction and they feed this poison of ignorance. Catholic Church has the Truth of Jesus Christ. It is the only way to salvation. Its Truth is not democratic. No matter how many people want to change things, Truth does not change.

No time

Julia and I are quite busy lately preparing for the arrival of Natasha. In this hectic time it is very hard to find a moment to write a post. (Excuses, excuses)

Medjugorje

The cafeteria is closed blog has an interesting story about he apparitions in Medjugorje.

The bishop asked the "seers" to stop issuing the messages that come from these "apparitions".

This is a deciding moment to truly know if these events are authentic or not. Obedience to the bishop shows that the "seers" see the Church as having a final authority. God given authority. If they obey it will be a very positive sign. (Think of Saint Padre Pio and other Saints) If they disobey the bishop, then it will be very hard for them to convince the church that these apparitions are real.

I'm interested to know how things will turn out. There is so many people that believe in Medjugorje. I think it is much safer to wait and see. The Church is the only sure way to know the truth. The Church is the voice of Jesus. Truth Himself.

Family, become what you are

These are powerful words from our Pope.

It is important that today's families also hear the memorable appeal John Paul II left them 25 years ago in the apostolic exhortation "Familiaris Consortio": "Family, become what you are!".

The theme of the forthcoming meeting in Valencia is the transmission of the faith in the family. The theme of the apostolic visit to that city is inspired in this commitment: "Family, Live and Transmit the Faith!"

In so many communities which today are secularized the first urgency for believers in Christ is, precisely, to renew the faith of adults so that they will be able to communicate it to new generations.

On the other hand, the journey of Christian initiation of children and adolescents can become an opportunity for parents to return to the Church and reflect further on the beauty and truth of the Gospel.

In short, the family is a living organism, where a mutual exchange of gifts takes place. What is important is that the word of God, which keeps the flame of faith alive, never be lacking. With a particularly significant gesture, during the rite of baptism, the godfather or godmother lights a candle from the great paschal candle, symbol of the risen Christ and then the celebrant says: "To you, parents and godparents, is entrusted the task of guarding this light so that this child, illuminated by Christ, may always live as a child of the light."

If this gesture, in which the whole meaning of the transmission of the faith in the family lies, is to be authentic, it must be preceded and accompanied by the parents' commitment to further their own knowledge of the faith, rekindling the flame with prayer and the assiduous practice of the sacraments of confession and the Eucharist.

Let us commend to the Virgin Mary the success of the forthcoming great Valencia meeting, and of all the families of the world so that they will be genuine communities of love and life, in which the flame of faith is transmitted from generation to generation.
